If the Divinity of Christ is so important to Christian Faith, why is He not stating His divinity overtly?

The Divinity of Christ is imperative in the Christian faith because it defines our faith. But what is more important than Christ's claim to be Divine is His mission on earth and His message to the world. His mission was to redeeem man to God through the sacrifice of His life shed on the Cross. His message was that there is hope and salvation for all mankind through Him. His three-year ministry to raise diciples to take that message to the ends of the earth  and for all time would not have been accomplished if He proclaimed His Divinity in a pious, traditionally-Jewish embedded society. Christ would have been stoned to death at the very first claim to be Divine. His claim to Divinity would not have served His mission and message to the world.

Hi Sarah,

It is fair enough to say that Jesus Christ came to earth with a mission that He had to fulfill. He was sent by the Father and humbly came to do a salvic work, bringing the message of the kingdom of God to the whole world and His message was not to openly and explicitly proclaim His divinity. One of the great works He did was to sacrifice Himself, dying on the cross, as an offering to appease the Lord and to reconcile between God and man. Well, the divinity claim would have led him to be stoned to death because of the Jewish society.

I am sure there are lots of believers out there who are devotedly seeking to dig out more about how do we know He is God, then, how are they going to be explained about Christ’s divinity? What proves this? Please help me with this!

Hi Sarah,

ya i think that it is interesting to see how Jesus wittily, tactfully, and implicitly state his divinity without jeopardizing his mission and message to the world. don't you think so?

Hi Sarah, Lionel here if you can't recognize the nick and wonder who i am.

Also adding to the things spoken by the others, how then dd the disciples come to believe Jesus as the Son of God and called Him that? now the thing that puzzles me is this: by what he does he is already stating that He is the Son of God. The disciples saw and knew it, and some of the people saw and proclaimed Him as that. If he was trying not to jeopardize His ministry ad His work why o such miraculous things that draw so much attention and also give His position away?

I mean if you are trying to avoid Things coming between you and the cross then you should not draw too much attention to yourself right? Help me reconcile this.
